The “simple CMS” trend continues. I wrote before about micro CMS Edicy, the dumbed-down mini CMS Bizyweb and the newest trend of blogging tools going the CMS route.

Bizyweb: Debut of “Simple CMS”

Content management terminology changes with time. The times of the Micro CMS may soon be gone, as now it appears it is the era of the “simple CMS,” — at least as positioned by Bizy, Inc. They have announced the distribution of their “simple CMS” product Bizyweb. Were they joking?

Blurring the Lines Between Blogging and CMS

I couldn’t help but notice the recent trend among blogging software products. Many of them are starting to look and act like web content management tools. Is it the seemingly inevitable merger with the Web CMS market, or the progression into the seemingly inevitable micro CMS arena?

Many blogging platforms now offer CMS-like features, including workflow, versioning, templating, asset management, etc. Blurring the lines between blogging and CMS: good or bad?
